Today is a very special day at number 5, it is our wedding anniversary. We are very lucky to have met each other at such a young age and have been together now for 11 years!! My other half proposed in 2011 in Florida (Details on the proposal here!) and we got married 2 years ago at the stunning Cranage Hall in Holmes Chapel. Below are a few images from the little things that made our day extra special. For all you brides-to-be the biggest piece of advise I can give you is to relax and enjoy the whole process. In the run up to the wedding there were some very stressful moments, however on the day a calmness just took over me and I relaxed and loved every moment (my family and friends were shocked to see me so relaxed as it is just not in my nature!)
When looking at wedding venues we definitely did our rounds and visited 90% of the venues in the Cheshire and Staffordshire area. However, none made us say this is the one quite like Cranage Hall did (besides Peckforton Castle which was way out of our budget due to having such a large family but is absolutely out of this world). I was actually visiting the wedding fair with my maid of honour when we found the venue and I dragged my intended back the same day!
I am quite a strong minded person and know what I want so when it came to the details for the wedding I made a lot myself! That included the invites, programmes, favours, tissue favours, confetti and cones, table numbers……the list goes on and on! From the moment he said “Will you marry me?” We knew the theme was going to be Tiffany Blue, I adore Tiffany & Co and everyone guessed that was the theme from the word go.
Most of our wedding budget went on flowers as I wanted those to be the show stopper, we used the wonderful Jane at Flower Design Events and I can’t recommend her enough. From the first meeting we knew she was the one, even when I stood there saying I wanted everything bigger she didn’t flinch once! Jane’s process was by far the most fun and gave you a brilliant idea of what the day is going to look like before hand. So step one you create a mood board of everything that you want for your wedding and what images make you think wow. Jane then uses the mood board as a base to create you samples for your bouquet and table decorations. The below flowers are just a sample of the amazing atomosphere Jane and Jason created for our wedding day and I can’t thank them enough. I absolutely love looking back at our photos and the flowers wow me every time. Our wedding cake was a simple Marks and Spencers 4 Tier wedding cake, my mum and I added the ribbon and brooch, Flower Design Events decorated it with small posies for a finishing touch.
My wedding dress was a Sophia Tollia Design from the lovely Bridal Couture by Josephine, ladies if you want the special treatment like in the movies this is the place to go!! Like the venue shopping I had been to quite a number of wedding dress shops, my mum and MoH were beginning to lose the plot, but no dress gave me that special feeling. Turns out I had my heart set on a dress that did not compliment my shape! Josephine gave me 5 coloured hangers and told me to choose 5 dresses to try on. The first 4 were easy but Josephine insisted I tried on 5 for luck so I walked up to the front of the shop and put the 5th counter on the first dress and said I wanted to try it on first to get it out of the way. Little did I know when I slipped on that Sophia Tolli dress I was going to fall in love, the other 4 just didn’t compare and that was the one!
So just a special message to my amazing husband – Loved you then, love you still, always have and always will ❤️
